Bettergoods Yogurt Flavored Freeze Dried Blueberries are whole freeze-dried blueberries covered in a thick, sweet yogurt-flavored coating from Walmart's Bettergoods line. I love, love, love pretty much anything made with yogurt or chocolate-covered fruits and nuts, and I also really love blueberries, so these immediately caught my attention.

In this review, we'll go over everything you need to know, including the taste, texture, ingredients, nutrition, price, and whether I think they're worth buying.

About Bettergoods Yogurt Flavored Freeze Dried Blueberries
Bettergoods is Walmart's private-label brand offering everything from frozen meals and pantry staples to snacks and specialty foods.
These are made with real, whole freeze-dried blueberries that are coated in a thick yogurt-flavored coating. They're also available in raspberry and strawberry varieties.
The package describes them as a light and crunchy snack combining the sweet-tart flavor of blueberries with a creamy yogurt flavor. You can eat them straight from the bag or add them to cereal or homemade trail mix for some extra flavor and crunch.

Each bag contains 9 ounces, or around 30 pieces, and costs $7.92 at my local Walmart. That's definitely on the pricey side for a snack, especially considering how quickly these can disappear.
Bettergoods is a Walmart-exclusive brand.

One important thing to note for my gluten-free readers: these are not labeled gluten-free. While I don't see any wheat ingredients listed, I wouldn't consider them a gluten-free product based on the packaging alone.
Nutrition & Ingredients
The yogurt-flavored coating is made with ingredients including:
- Sugar
- Hydrogenated palm kernel oil
- Yogurt powder
- Whey
- Whey protein concentrate
- Soy lecithin
- Natural flavors

The rest of the product includes freeze-dried blueberry pieces, sugar, tapioca dextrin, glucose, confectioner's glaze, and coconut oil.
They contain milk and soy.
While there aren't any wheat ingredients listed, the package is not labeled gluten-free.
A serving size is only 3 pieces and contains:
- 150 calories
- 21g carbohydrates
- 20g sugar
- 17g added sugar
- 0g fiber
- 0g protein
- 8g fat
So while these are made with real blueberries, I definitely wouldn't consider them a healthy snack. The yogurt-flavored coating contains quite a bit of sugar and oil, making these much more of a sweet treat than a serving of fruit.
Taste Test
These are fairly large pieces, somewhere between the size of a nickel and a quarter. The coating is white with little purple and blue speckles from the blueberries underneath.
The blueberries themselves are whole and freeze-dried, so they're crunchy and very light and airy rather than chewy. They have a slightly tart flavor that works really well with the sweet coating.
And speaking of the coating, there is a lot of it.

It's thick, creamy, and very sweet, with a texture and flavor that reminded me much more of white chocolate than traditional yogurt. There are also little crunchy flavor bits throughout the coating that add quite a bit of tanginess.
Sometimes, that tanginess was actually a little too much for me.
Most pieces had a nice balance of sweet and tart, but I came across a few where the sour flavor was so strong that it almost reminded me of a Warhead. I'm a big fan of sour candy, but even I wasn't particularly fond of those pieces.
The blueberry flavor is definitely there, although I think it's more of a blueberry flavoring than the natural flavor of the fruit itself.
And despite being called yogurt flavored, I wouldn't say these taste much like actual yogurt. There isn't really that creamy, tangy yogurt flavor I was expecting. Instead, the coating tastes much more like a sweet candy coating with a little tanginess mixed in.

But honestly?
I really, really liked these.
The combination of the light, airy crunch of the freeze-dried blueberries with the thick, creamy, white-chocolate-like coating was fantastic. The sweet and tangy combination worked really well, too.
I've only had this package for a few days and I'm already almost out of it, which probably tells you more about how much I liked them than anything else in this review.
My only real complaints are the price and the occasional pieces where the sour flavor was just a little too intense.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are Bettergoods Yogurt Flavored Freeze Dried Blueberries gluten-free? They are not labeled gluten-free. While there aren't any wheat ingredients listed, I would not consider them a gluten-free product based on the packaging.
- Are they actually made with yogurt? They're yogurt flavored and contain yogurt powder made with condensed milk, along with other milk ingredients. The flavor, however, is much closer to a sweet candy or white chocolate coating than traditional yogurt.
- What do Bettergoods Yogurt Flavored Freeze Dried Blueberries taste like? They taste like freeze-dried blueberries covered in a sweet, white-chocolate-like coating. The combination is sweet and tangy, with blueberry flavor and some very tart pieces mixed in.
- Are they crunchy? Yes! The freeze-dried blueberries have a very light and airy crunch that I really enjoyed. The creamy coating adds a completely different texture, making the combination especially fun to eat.
- Are they a healthy snack? No, I wouldn't call these healthy. While they're made with real fruit, the coating contains quite a bit of sugar and oil. With 17g of added sugar in just three pieces, I'd consider these more of an occasional treat.
- Are they good for travel or theme parks? They're a great snack to throw in the car or pack for a trip, but I probably wouldn't bring them to a theme park. The yogurt-flavored coating would likely melt in the heat, leaving you with a very messy bag.
- Where can you buy them? Bettergoods is a Walmart-exclusive brand, so you'll find these at Walmart.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I really, really enjoyed these.
The combination of crunchy, airy freeze-dried blueberries and the sweet, creamy coating was delicious, and I loved the sweet-and-tangy flavor combination. These are definitely more of a candy-like treat than a healthy fruit snack, but sometimes that's exactly what I'm looking for.
The biggest downside is the price. At nearly $8 for around 30 pieces, they disappear pretty quickly for the amount you're paying. I also wasn't a huge fan of the occasional pieces with an almost Warhead-level sour flavor.
Would I buy them again?
I think so, but only as an occasional treat.
They're a fun and unique snack, and I enjoyed them enough to practically finish the entire bag in a few days. I just don't think they're something I'd want to spend $8 on every time I'm grocery shopping.
