Feel Good Foods Gluten-Free Chicken Egg Rolls are frozen gluten-free chicken egg rolls made for an easy appetizer, snack, or meal. Feel Good Foods is a brand known for making gluten-free versions of foods that traditionally contain gluten, and I've been staring at these egg rolls in the freezer aisle for quite a while.

I've been hesitant to actually buy them because of the hefty price tag nearly $7 for just three egg rolls! But eventually, my curiosity won out and I decided to give them a try.
In this review, we'll go over everything you need to know, including the taste, texture, ingredients, nutrition, preparation, price, and whether I think they're worth buying.

About Feel Good Foods Gluten-Free Chicken Egg Rolls
Feel Good Foods specializes in gluten-free versions of foods that can be difficult to find when you need to avoid gluten. Their products include everything from dumplings and pizza to appetizers like these chicken egg rolls.
These are made with a gluten-free rice tempura wrapper and filled with chicken, cabbage, carrots, scallions, and ginger.

Each package contains three fairly large egg rolls and weighs 9 ounces. I purchased mine at Walmart for $6.46, which works out to a little over $2 per egg roll.
That's definitely more expensive than traditional frozen egg rolls, but the size is actually pretty impressive.
You can find Feel Good Foods products at retailers including Walmart, Kroger, Target, Publix, Sprouts, Whole Foods, and Fresh Market, among others. If you're looking for them near you, the brand also has an online store locator.

How to Cook Feel Good Foods Gluten-Free Chicken Egg Rolls
The package gives you three different cooking options: air fryer, oven, or pan-frying.
I decided to use the air fryer because, well, I'm obsessed with my air fryer and use it literally every day.

I cooked one egg roll straight from frozen at 400°F for 14 minutes, following the package directions.
It came out nicely crisp with no filling leaking out. The wrapper didn't get quite as golden brown as I expected, but the texture was still really nice.
Taste Test
The first thing I noticed about these egg rolls was how large they are.
They're about the same size as an egg roll you'd get from your favorite takeout restaurant, roughly 5 inches long and about 1 ½ inches in diameter.
Considering how small gluten-free versions of foods can sometimes be, I was pretty impressed with the size.

After air frying, the wrapper was crisp and held together really well. It wasn't quite as deeply golden brown as I expected, but I had no issues with the filling leaking out.
Cutting the egg roll in half, I could see that there was a good amount of filling inside. The filling itself had a really nice savory flavor with chicken, vegetables, ginger, and a hint of soy sauce.
It was moist without being soggy, which is exactly what I want from an egg roll filling.
The wrapper is made with rice flour, and you can definitely tell there's a slight difference in texture compared to a traditional wheat-based egg roll wrapper.
The outside was crispy but not particularly crunchy, while the inside had a little more chew than I remember from traditional takeout egg rolls. There was also a very slight sweetness to the wrapper.

But honestly, I didn't mind the difference at all.
Overall, these taste pretty darn close to what I remember traditional takeout egg rolls tasting like. The texture is a little different, which is to be expected with a gluten-free wrapper, but the flavor and overall experience really scratched that egg roll itch.
I didn't try these with a dipping sauce since they don't come with one. I think they'd be great with some yum yum sauce next time, although I honestly think they're flavorful enough to eat on their own.

Final Thoughts
Overall, I really, really liked these.
I haven't been able to have an egg roll in a few years, so it's really nice to have a brand like Feel Good Foods making these kinds of foods available to people who can't have gluten.
The egg rolls are a great size, the filling is flavorful and moist, and the rice flour wrapper gets nicely crisp in the air fryer. They aren't an exact replica of a traditional takeout egg roll-the wrapper is a little chewier and has a slightly different texture-but I think they're close enough to satisfy that craving.
My biggest issue is the price.
At nearly $7 for three egg rolls, I don't think these will become something I regularly keep in my freezer. That's just a little too much for three small servings.
But would I buy them again? Absolutely.
I think these will be making another appearance whenever I'm planning an Asian-inspired dinner. If I'm already making fried rice, noodles, or another takeout-inspired meal, spending a few extra dollars on three gluten-free egg rolls feels much more worthwhile.
So while they're definitely a splurge, I think these are one of those gluten-free products that are actually worth knowing about when you're craving something you haven't been able to have in a while.
