Taste Test
These were definitely different than I pictured when I bought them.
For some reason, I imagined the crackers themselves being made with a mixture of rice and little pieces of dried pineapple rather than primarily getting their pineapple flavor from seasoning and juice. That's not necessarily a bad thing-I had just imagined something completely different!

The crackers themselves are very small, about the size of a quarter, with a triangular shape and yellow coloring. They're also coated in a generous amount of seasoning.
According to the nutrition label, there should be somewhere around 240 crackers in the box. I didn't count them individually because I don't quite have that level of dedication, but visually, the box was only about half full.
Texture-wise, they're similar to other rice crackers I've tried. They have a smooth, almost glossy exterior and a very firm crunch. I wouldn't describe them as light or airy. Instead, they're fairly dense and have more of a hard, substantial crunch.

The flavor is where things get particularly interesting.
Soy sauce is the strongest flavor initially, followed by a fruity pineapple finish. The cracker itself also seems to have some pineapple flavor, rather than all of it coming from the seasoning.
Overall, they're much more salty and savory than sweet. Along with the soy sauce and pineapple, I picked up some garlic and even the slightest hint of heat in the back of my throat. I'm pretty sensitive to spice, and even I would only describe them as mildly spicy. I'm actually not entirely sure where the heat is coming from since none of the ingredients immediately stood out to me as particularly spicy.
Do they taste like pineapple fried rice? Kind of.
They definitely remind me of Thai-inspired flavors in general, although I don't know that I would immediately guess "pineapple fried rice" if I didn't already know what they were supposed to taste like.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are Bettergoods Thai-Style Pineapple Fried Rice Crackers gluten-free? Yes! The package is labeled gluten-free.
- What do Bettergoods Pineapple Fried Rice Crackers taste like? They're primarily salty and savory with a strong soy sauce flavor followed by pineapple, garlic, and just a touch of heat. There's some fruity sweetness, but it's definitely more of a background flavor. They remind me of Thai-inspired food in general, although the flavor doesn't immediately scream pineapple fried rice.
- Are they spicy? A little, but only slightly. I'm very sensitive to spice and only noticed a hint of heat toward the back of my throat.
- What can you eat them with? I'm honestly not sure, and I think that's one of their biggest drawbacks. The crackers are too small to easily use for dipping, and the seasoning is so strong that I think it would overpower many cheeses, dips, and other toppings. I think these work best eaten straight out of the box as a snack.
- Where can you buy them? Bettergoods is a Walmart-exclusive brand, so you'll find these crackers at Walmart.
- Are Bettergoods Pineapple Fried Rice Crackers worth buying? I'm glad I tried them because I love finding new and interesting gluten-free snacks. With that said, I probably wouldn't buy these again. Unlike more versatile gluten-free crackers, such as Milton's Gluten-Free Crackers, which I buy all the time, these can really only be eaten on their own. While the flavor is certainly interesting, I didn't enjoy the flavor or texture enough to find myself craving another box.
Final Thoughts
Bettergoods Thai-Style Pineapple Fried Rice Crackers are definitely one of the more interesting gluten-free snacks I've tried.
They're heavily seasoned with strong notes of soy sauce and pineapple, a little garlic, and just a hint of heat. The texture is dense and crunchy with that glossy exterior you often find on rice crackers.
Ultimately, though, I don't think I'd buy them again.
They're fun if you love trying unusual flavors and want something completely different to snack on, but they're not particularly versatile. They're too small for dipping, the seasoning is too strong for many pairings, and neither the flavor nor texture was quite good enough to leave me wanting more.
I'm glad I tried them, but for my next gluten-free cracker purchase, I'll probably be reaching for one of my tried-and-true favorites instead.
