The Watering Hole in Universal's Islands of Adventure has been on my must-try list for quite a while, and on my last visit I finally decided to stop in and give it a try.

Located within the lush jungle pathways of Jurassic Park, this tropical-themed drink stand serves frozen cocktails, beers, and island-inspired beverages in one of the prettiest little corners of the park.
In this review, I'll go over my full thoughts along with everything you need to know before grabbing a drink for yourself.
Atmosphere & Location:
You'll find The Watering Hole tucked away just after passing through the iconic Jurassic Park arches in Universal's Islands of Adventure. If you reach Jurassic World VelociCoaster, you've gone a little too far!

Crowd levels here are usually somewhere between low and moderate. On this occasion it was fairly busy due to a park event, but I didn't wait more than 20 minutes.
The small outdoor bar is surrounded by lush tropical plants and a tiny concrete seating area that really helps sell the whole abandoned jungle outpost theme.

The stand intentionally feels a little rough and "thrown together," with scraps and mismatched materials making up much of the decor. There's even a chandelier made of soda bottles, which feels perfectly on-brand for the area.
The Menu:

On the menu at The Watering Hole, you'll find several Jurassic-themed cocktails along with draft beers, bottled beers, and wines.
If alcohol isn't your thing, you can also grab bottled water, energy drinks, or refill your Coca-Cola Freestyle cup at this location.
One thing to note: this is strictly a drink stand, so there are no food or snack options available here.

What I ordered:
On this trip, I decided to try the Birds of Paradise ($20): Malibu Passion Fruit Rum, Cruzan Rum, orgeat syrup, bitters, passion fruit, and lime juice (Contains tree nuts)
I chose this one because it sounded fairly close to an original Mai Tai, which happens to be one of my favorite cocktails.

The drink came served in a cute little souvenir plastic tiki cup, and I was told I could bring it back later for discounted refills, which was a nice bonus.
Presentation-wise, this drink was gorgeous. A bright tropical pink color topped with an extra floater of rum and garnished with fresh fruit and an orchid.
Flavor-wise, it actually did taste surprisingly close to a traditional Mai Tai, just with an added hint of passion fruit. The strongest flavor notes were lime and almond from the orgeat syrup, followed by a noticeable but not overwhelming alcohol finish. There was definitely a little burn on the back end, which I personally enjoy in tiki-style cocktails.
After getting our drinks, a friend and I ended up sitting in the little concrete seating area just off to the left side of the bar. Surrounded by tropical plants and tucked away from the main pathways, it actually felt surprisingly peaceful and separated from the crowds.
We ended up sitting there for almost an hour just chatting and slowly sipping our drinks, which honestly made this one of my favorite little hidden break spots in all of Universal's Islands of Adventure.
