Honey Balsamic Fried Red Cabbage with Goat Cheese & Walnuts
This Honey Balsamic Pan-Fried Red Cabbage is an elegant side dish for any occasion. Sauteed red cabbage full of creamy rich goat cheese, crunchy walnuts, and a sweet honey balsamic dressing.
Ingredients
- 1 head red cabbage sliced 1/4 inch thick- about 6-8 cups
- Olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese
- 2 tbsp curly leaf parsley chopped
For Honey Balsamic Dressing:
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 garlic clove finely minced
- Kosher salt & fresh cracked pepper to taste
Instructions
- Mix Balsamic Honey Dressing– in a small mixing bowl whisk together 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, kosher salt, and fresh cracked black pepper. Set aside.
- Cook Cabbage– heat a drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add sliced red cabbage and stir until evenly coated. Cook 4-6 minutes, stirring often, until cabbage just begins to brown and become tender. Turn heat down to medium-low and pour in balsamic mixture. Continue cooking and stirring for 4-6 minutes until desired tenderness is reached.
- Finish– remove frying pan from heat, add chopped walnuts, crumbled goat cheese, and chopped parsley. Stir to combine and serve.
