Key Ingredients:

  • Refrigerated Ravioli: These ravioli cook quickly. Use your favorite filling such as cheese, mushroom, or sausage.
  • Baby Bella Mushrooms & Asparagus: Add texture and a subtle earthy flavor.
  • Garlic Thyme Cream Sauce: Made with cream, white wine, garlic, thyme, broth, & Parmesan cheese.

Dietary Swaps:

  • Gluten-Free: To make gluten-free, use a gluten-free ravioli or tortellini and use a gluten free 1:1 flour in the sauce. As always, double check all store bought ingredient labels.
  • Dairy-Free: Replace the cream and Parmesan cheese with dairy free alternative and use a dairy-free ravioli.
  • Vegetarian: Double check that ravioli and Parmesan cheese are vegetarian and use vegetable broth for the sauce.

Recipe Variations:

  • Add or swap out the veggies. Try this recipe with spinach, zucchini, squash, or bell peppers.
  • Try it with a different pasta. This recipe works with all types of pasta. Try it with fettucinne, farfelle, or tortellini.
  • Add a meaty protein, such as sliced grilled chicken, ground sausage, or shrimp.

Tips & Notes:

  • Don't Overcook the Ravioli. Ravioli only need a few minutes of boiling. Much more than that and they may start falling apart.
  • Adjust Sauce Consistency to your liking. Want it a little thicker? Simmer it a bit longer or add extra thickener. For thinner, add a bit more pasta water, cream, or broth.

Garlic Cream Sauce Ravioli

Ingredients
  

  • 18 ounces refrigerated ravioli
  • 2 tablespoon salted butter
  • 8 ounce baby bella mushrooms sliced
  • 2 cups asparagus trimmed and cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic about 3 cloves
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup cream heavy cream, half & half, or whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Cook the Ravioli

  • Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil.
  • Add a pinch of salt and the ravioli. Cook according to the package directions.
  • Once cooked, drain the ravioli and set it aside.

Sauté the Vegetables

  • In a large frying pan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms, asparagus, and a light sprinkle of salt.
  • Cook for about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the veggies are slightly browned and softened.

Build the Garlic Cream Sauce

  • Stir in the minced garlic and fresh thyme. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Sprinkle the veggie mixture with flour, stirring to combine.
  • Whisk in the white wine and ¼ cup chicken broth, stirring until smooth.
  • Gradually whisk in the remaining chicken broth, cream, and grated Parmesan cheese.

Simmer & Finish the Dish

  • Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, stirring often.
  • Let it simmer for 4-6 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  • Season with salt & pepper to taste.

Toss & Serve

  • Add the cooked ravioli to the pan and gently fold it into the sauce.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes
