1 ½cupscheddar cheeseshredded fresh from the block
8strips baconcooked and crumbled
2tablespoonsour cream
2tablespoonranch dressing
1green onionthinly sliced
Fresh cracked pepper
Instructions
Bake or air fry french fries according to package directions until golden and crispy.
Whisk sour cream and ranch together until smooth. Set aside.
Place cooked fries on an oven-safe dish. Top with shredded cheddar and cooked bacon.
Bake or broil 2–3 minutes until cheese is bubbly and melted. Note, freshly shredded cheese melts very fast, so keep an eye on it!
Drizzle with ranch-sour cream sauce, garnish with green onion and cracked pepper. Serve immediately.
Notes
Shred the cheese fresh and straight from the block. It melts much much better than pre-shredded cheese.
Use your favorite fries, shoestring, crinkle cut, waffle fries, or even curly fries. They all work really well with this recipe.
This recipe can also be made in the air-fryer! Add a piece of aluminum to the air fryer basket. Cook fries according to directions on package, top with cheese and bacon, and cook another minute or so.
