I think that mission is complete, because these are Amazing!

Made with pumpkin purée, warm pumpkin pie spices, and topped with a buttery maple frosting these Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls are So. Dang. Good.

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls Ingredient Notes:

Don’t skip on letting your ingredients come to room temperature! Too high/low temps can shock and kill your yeast meaning your cinnamon rolls won’t rise. Don’t be a yeast murderer!


If you’d like to have these for breakfast, you can make the dough the night before and allow them to rise in the refrigerator over night.

For Dough-

  • Butter
  • Half & Half
  • Dry Active Yeast
  • White Sugar
  • Pumpkin Puree– canned or homemade. To make homemade pumpkin puree, split small pumpkin and scoop out the seeds. Place pumpkin slices flesh side down on baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour until tender. Peel skin and blend flesh in blender or food processor.
  • Bread Flour– If you want more structure, bread flour is the best to use. You may also use a blend of bread and all-purpose
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • Salt
  • Egg

Filling-

  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • Cinnamon

For Frosting-

  • Butter
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Heavy Cream
  • Maple Syrup

Leftover Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls:

Store them in an airtight container or wrap them tightly with plastic wrap. They stay good at room-temperature for up to 2 days, in the fridge for up to a week, and in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Ingredients
  

For Dough:

  • 1/4 cup Butter melted & cooled
  • 3/4 cup Half & Half room temperature
  • 2 1/4 tsp Dry Active Yeast
  • 1/4 cup White Sugar + 1/2 tsp
  • 1 cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 4 cups Bread Flour
  • 4 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 tsp Salt

For Filling:

  • 1/4 cup Butter room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon

For Frosting:

  • 1/4 cup Butter room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Heavy Cream
  • 2 tbsp Maple Syrup

Instructions
 

For Dough:

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, proof yeast by combining 1/4 cup warm water (around 95F-110F) and 1/2 tsp sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and allow to bloom for 5-10 minutes until frothy. If yeast does not foam, yeast is dead and will not rise- start over.
  • On low speed mix in half& half, sugar, pumpkin puree, melted butter, and egg.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, pumpkin spice, and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet, 1 cup at time.
  • Using a dough hook, set your mixer to low and allow it to knead 8-10 minutes. If you don't have a stand mixer, do this by hand.
  • Transfer dough to a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with plaster wrap and allow to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • Transfer dough to a well floured surface & roll out in to a 14X16 rectangle. Spread softened filling butter across dough. Mix filling spices- brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon. Sprinkle over buttered dough and use a spatula to spread evenly.
  • Starting from the short side, roll dough into a tight log. Cut an inch off of both ends & cut the rest into 12 even pieces.
  • Place cinnamon rolls in a parchment lined baking pan. Cover with plastic wrap and leave out to rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375. Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before frosting.

For Frosting:

  • In a small bowl whisk together all frosting ingredients until smooth. Spread over cinnamon rolls.
