Dutch Baby Ingredients:

  • Eggs
  • Flour
  • Milk
  • Sugar
  • All-Spice– all spice has notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
  • Butter

Topping Ideas:

  • Breakfast items such as bacon, eggs, sausage
  • Melted butter & honey
  • Lemon curd and blueberries
  • Smoked salmon and cream cheese
  • Fruit and yogurt

Equipment Needed:

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Oven-Safe Cast Iron Skillet
  • Spatula

How to Make Dutch Baby:

  • Preheat oven to 425.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and all spice. Whisk in eggs and milk. Set Aside
  • Cut butter into pads and place in cast iron skillet. Pop in oven until butter has melted. Keep a close eye on it so it does not burn. Pour batter into melted butter, pop back into the oven, and bake for 15-20 minutes. Lower oven temperature to 300, bake another 5 minutes.
  • Top with chosen toppings and serve immediately.

Leftovers:

  • Dutch babies are best served immediately from the oven. If you do have leftovers, they can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and can be reheated in a 350F oven for 3-5 minutes.
